Responsibilities

• To formulate strategic plans to promote the Kuk’s history and cultural heritage, enhancing the public awareness of the history and values of Po Leung Kuk as a charitable organization
• To supervise the daily operation, administration and management of Po Leung Kuk Museum
• To steer the planning and implementation of curatorial and educational programmes, including but not limiting to exhibitions, guided tours, seminars and workshops.
• To manage the Kuk’s Archives, including acquisition, collection, preservation, conservation and researches and digitalization strategies to enhance access and academic usage.
• To manage the preservation of Po Leung Kuk Main Building, an Grade I historic building
• To maintain and establish network with relevant stakeholders (including other museums, archives, universities, cultural and educational institutions), and actively seek for collaborations or funding opportunities.
• To manage the budget and administer the operation of the Museum
• To report to CEO and Board of Directors, and perform other duties as assigned by the Culture Committee 

Requirements

• Possess a recognized university degree, preferably in History, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, Anthropology or equivalent;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cultural sector at managerial level, have good knowledge of the professional operation of museum and archive
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, including Putonghua
• Have strong research skills and public speaking abilities
• Knowledge / experiences in archival management, funding of cultural sectors will be an advantage
• Flexible and willing to work overtime and weekends at times
